Now that you’ve got a grasp one what to write and how to write it, you may be wondering how often should you post to your blog. Great news! How often you write is entirely up to you! Every day, once a week, twice a month… whatever works for you. The key is remaining consistent. Meaning, whatever you decide your post frequency will be, you should try your best to stick with it. Here are a few tips to help you out…
Determine the Frequency
As stated above, your post frequency is up to you. Be realistic. You already know if you can post daily or weekly or monthly. If you are new to this, I suggest you start small… like once a week or twice a month… and get bigger as you get more comfortable with your blog. It’s definitely better to increase rather than decrease. Reminder: the more content you have out there on the internet, the more opportunities people have to find you.
Make the Time
You don’t have to devote a ton of time to your blog, but you do have to devote time to it. Make it a part of your plan to schedule time to research and write your posts based upon how often you plan to publish. Remember the posts do not have to be long… focus on quality of words, not quantity.
Create an Editorial Calendar
Refer back to the previous Business Blogging posts in this series about content. You can create your editorial calendar by designating certain days/weeks with the types of posts you plan to write… such as Client Spotlight, Question of the Week, Industry Trends, etc. You can also tie content in with seasons, holidays, or certain monthly industry activities or events.
It’s all coming together now, right? Great! But there is still more to come to help make your business blog the best!
