Masonite is the true door category leader — the only door manufacturer to serve both the residential and architectural markets. In addition to being a household brand, they offer a wide array of high-quality, high-style doors that meet a wide variety of homeowner needs.
Though Masonite sells through retailers rather than selling online through their website, they need to communicate the same types of information about their products as they would on a typical commerce site. As such, it made sense to lay out their products just like a commerce site, and provide the user with the means to locate the retailer nearest them.
YDO created an API synchronization process that connected to Masonite’s product database, leveraging the product landing page to specifically support SEO/Indexing strategies. We used a custom filter sequence to narrow a user’s search results within the product view, using geocode to automatically select the user’s Zip Code based on an IP address lookup, in order to display only products that would be available to users in their specific geographic area. We created a unique API instance for each element of the product to streamline load time, because there were more than 20,000 possible combinations available.
